At the Steamboat Institute, we are Defenders of Freedom and Advocates of Liberty. We are admirers of the bravery and rugged individualism that has made this country great. We are admirers of the greatness and wisdom that resides in every individual. We understand that this is a great nation because of its people, not because of its government.  Like Thomas Jefferson, we would rather be, “exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than those attending too small a degree of it.”

The Steamboat Institute is an educational organization recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code–and we are here to educate. We are here to help provide tools, information, and inspiration to those who hold dear the Founding Principles of the nation.

This year, the Steamboat Institute is excited to announce that we will be awarding scholarships to young people who are interested in making a difference in their community.  Recipients of this scholarship will have their costs covered to attend the Steamboat Institute’s 9th Annual Freedom Conference taking place August 25-27.  The scholarship will include entry to the conference as well as lodging and travel accommodations.

To ensure the those who receive a scholarship are going to take what they learn at the conference back to their communities, the selection committee is requesting that individuals receive a nomination from a professor, mentor, community leader, coach, politician, employer, etc.  Below you will find the nomination form.

Scholarship Guidelines:

  • Seeking young people who are involved in their community and extracurricular activities
  • Seeking individuals who are in college or starting their career in the workforce
  • Seeking individuals who will benefit from attending the Freedom Conference and will use what they learn to add value to their communities.

Please click here to submit a nomination by May 26, 2017.

The applications and nominations will be reviewed and recipients selected by a committee consisting volunteers who are currently involved with the Steamboat Institute.  The scholarships will be awarded on Friday, June 30, 2017.
