John Richardson

John Richardson is a Visiting Fellow at the Alabama Policy Institute, where he focuses on research in state policy, civic renewal, and the future of conservative governance in Alabama.

He recently completed a Master of Public Policy at the University of Oxford’s Blavatnik School of Government as an Eisenhower Global Scholar, where his thesis examined the future of conservatism in Alabama. This fall, he will begin his Juris Doctor at Stanford Law School as a Knight-Hennessy Scholar.

A summa cum laude graduate of The University of Alabama, he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and named both a Witt University Fellow and Blackburn Fellow. John previously served in the Student Government Association, coached soccer at Holt High School, helped plant a local church, and founded Alabama’s chapter of FarmHouse fraternity. Before beginning law school, John spent time working as a wrangler on a ranch in the mountains of Colorado. He is from Birmingham, Alabama.
