Kristina Arriaga
Kristina Arriaga is a relentless champion of freedom and a highly respected leader in international diplomacy, human rights, and strategic communications. She has
represented U.S. interests on numerous prominent international platforms, including as Vice Chair of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) and a U.S. delegate to the United Nations Human Rights Commission (UNHRC). Domestically, she served as Executive Director of Becket Law, successfully leading landmark religious liberty cases before the U.S. Supreme Court.
Arriaga is also the founder of Intrinsic, a consultancy specializing in transformative communications strategies for leading institutions, and has served since 2021 as a
trustee on the Oversight Board, an independent body overseeing content moderation for Facebook and Instagram. The work of the Oversight Board impacts over 4 billion users worldwide.
Appointed to USCIRF in 2016 by the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Arriaga championed religious freedom and human rights in challenging terrains,
including Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Turkey. Her dedication to advancing these freedoms has earned her accolades, such as the 2017 Newseum Free Expression
Award. She is also a sought-after media commentator and educator, with appearances on FOX, BBC, MSNBC, CNN, NPR, and C-SPAN and publications in The Wall Street Journal and USA Today. A dynamic public speaker, Arriaga has also lectured at Oxford University and other prominent institutions and testified before U.S. Congress on critical religious freedom issues.
Arriaga resides in Alexandria, Virginia, with her husband of 30 years, a retired Marine. They have three adult children, two of whom serve as Navy officers, along with a spirited dog and two opinionated cats.
