“The Blankley Fellowship plays a vital role in supporting independent voices who share Tony Blankley’s vision for a free and prosperous America. In a media environment in which virtually all honors and credentialing institutions reward journalists who parrot the same viewpoint, the Steamboat Institute confers crucial early-career legitimacy on writers and thinkers who may otherwise go unrecognized. The fellowship has also connected me with a rich network of like-minded people, many of whom I now consider good friends.”

Sarah Bedford is the 2022-23 Tony Blankley Fellow for Public Policy and American Exceptionalism. Sarah is a political and investigative reporter at the Washington Examiner where she has produced excellent work on a range of pressing political topics and gained a strong following. Prior to joining the Examiner, Sarah was a White House reporter for CNN, a Robert Novak journalism fellow at the Fund for American Studies, and a graduate of the National Journalism Center fellowship program.
