We spoke with Rob Smith, an Iraq War veteran and spokesman for Turning Point USA in an interview about his new book: “Always a Soldier: Service, Sacrifice and Coming Out as America’s Favorite Black, Gay Republican.” A decorated Veteran, Rob Smith served for five years in the United States Army, including two tours in the Middle East. During Operation Iraqi Freedom he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal and the Combat Infantry Badge.
