Meet Jackson Grasz, Chief Operating Officer for the Steamboat Institute!

As COO, I look forward to strengthening the Institute’s efforts to inspire active involvement in the defense and preservation of American liberty for the next 250 years.” – Jackson Grasz


With family roots in the American continent stretching back to the arrival of the Mayflower, Jackson is inspired by the courage and virtue of the generations that founded America and forged it into a land of liberty, and is dedicated to preserving the nation’s founding principles for generations to come.

Jackson previously served as the Director of Business Administration for Pepperdine University, where he received his Juris Doctor from the Pepperdine Caruso School of Law and his Master of Public Policy from the Pepperdine School of Public Policy. While completing his graduate studies, Jackson was selected to participate in several liberty-oriented fellowships, including the Blackstone Legal Fellowship, the Rumsfeld Foundation Graduate Fellowship, and the Ronald Reagan Presidential Institute / Alexander Hamilton Society National Defense Fellowship. Jackson served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Pepperdine Policy Review, an Associate Editor of the Pepperdine Law Review, an Editor of the Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy Symposium Edition, and as an Executive Guest Editor of the Texas Review of Law & Politics.

Jackson has held a variety of legal and policy positions in both the private and nonprofit sectors. His experiences include providing strategic insights on global economic trends and international trade policy to senior executives at Walmart and working on major constitutional, regulatory, and commercial disputes for the premier litigation boutique, Cooper & Kirk.

Jackson is a proud, lifelong Nebraska Cornhusker. He graduated as a Chancellor’s Scholar from the University of Nebraska, where he received his B.S. in Business Management with minors in Political Science and National Security Studies and a certificate in Public Policy Analysis. He is an alumnus of the Nebraska Business Honors Academy and was selected for the University of Nebraska’s Outstanding Student Leadership Award.

Jackson and his wife, Kayla, are proud parents of their adorable son, William. They live in Ventura County, California, where they are members of a local Presbyterian church. Together, they enjoy exploring the grandeur of America, from its magnificent national parks to its charming historic towns dotted across the country.
